Begüm Tekakpınar, representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) at the 3rdMeykin International Music Contest in Kyrgzstan won first place in the competition.

The 3rd Meykin Asia International Music Festival was held in the city of Cholpon-Ata, the holiday centre on the shores of Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan.

Young Turkish Cypriot musician Begüm Tekakpınar, who represented the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, won the competition.

As an outcome of the points given by international jurists, Begüm Tekakpınar from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Ruslan Asankan Ulu from Kyrgyzstan won first place.

Sarvinoz Kamalova from Uzbekistan and Nada Talevska Spasovska from North Macedonia won second place while Adilkhan Makin and Kasiet Idirisova from Kyrgyzstan won third place at the competition.

The people’s favourite award was given to Cevher Aksoy from Türkiye.

The final award ceremony of the competition was broadcast live on TRT Avaz.

Talented singers aged between 18-35 from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Türkiye, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia participated in the competition.

Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY Sultan Raev issued a message via his social media account.

He wrote “I congratulate all artists who won prizes at the Meykin Asia International Music Competition. I am honoured to award the first prize to Begüm Tekakpınar from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.”
